From Monday, August 24 to Sunday, August 30, 2026, eight races start in turn from Chamonix, Courmayeur, Martigny-Combe and Orsières as part of UTMB Mont-Blanc. The flagship UTMB race (174 km, 9,900 m D+) starts in Chamonix on Friday, August 28 at 5:45 PM. Around the races
Bib pickup, village and prize ceremonies
Bib pickup for each race is spread over the days before its start, opening as early as Sunday, August 23 for TDS. The event village runs on Place du Mont-Blanc in Chamonix throughout the week. Prize ceremonies take place at Place Triangle de l'Amitié as each race's finishers arrive. The 2026 closing ceremony is held Sunday, August 30, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM, at the same location.

UTMB circles the massif — it never reaches the summit
UTMB Mont-Blanc follows the Tour du Mont-Blanc trails through France, Italy and Switzerland — it is a trail-running event that never reaches the summit (4,805.59 m). Climbing Mont Blanc itself is a separate discipline, with its own preparation and gear: crampons, ice axe, roped travel.
