    Around the races

Bib pickup, village and prize ceremonies

Bib pickup for each race is spread over the days before its start, opening as early as Sunday, August 23 for TDS. The event village runs on Place du Mont-Blanc in Chamonix throughout the week. Prize ceremonies take place at Place Triangle de l'Amitié as each race's finishers arrive. The 2026 closing ceremony is held Sunday, August 30, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM, at the same location.

    Not to be confused

UTMB circles the massif — it never reaches the summit

UTMB Mont-Blanc follows the Tour du Mont-Blanc trails through France, Italy and Switzerland — it is a trail-running event that never reaches the summit (4,805.59 m). Climbing Mont Blanc itself is a separate discipline, with its own preparation and gear: crampons, ice axe, roped travel.
