Victor Michel is interested in the history of mountaineering and climbs as a passionate amateur. Based in Chamonix, he writes this site's content from official sources (FFCAM, PGHM, IGN, Météo-France, SNGM, OGE) and the accounts of the guides and mountaineers who shaped the history of the Mont Blanc massif.
Much of the research draws on the books of Gaston Rébuffat (1921-1985), a high-mountain guide and one of the leading reference authors on the Mont Blanc massif. His full bibliography, used as an editorial inspiration source, is listed below.
